El Paso Community Club

About Us
Back in 1990, 5 gentlemen met in the basement of the El Paso Bar and started talking how the town of El Paso should have a parade every year to celebrate the community. They each threw in $20 to buy stamps, envelopes and make posters to
send out-- inviting people and groups to be in the parade. That was the beginning of what is now known as the El Paso Community Club.
In early years, the group held benefits and auctions to raise money for families in crisis.
In 1995 the group became incorporated as a non-profit organization. In 1997 the group established the El Paso Community Club Crisis Fund earmarking a portion of their
proceeds to assist people in crisis. The Crisis Fund is managed by a group of neighbors and friends in El Paso who believe community is more than geography.
The El Paso Community Club Crisis Fund accepts and celebrates all the families of our community and the network of people that emerge from the relationships we all have.
Last year our organization gave out $9850 to 32
families in crisis.
Those donations included:
Cancer victims
Transplant patients
Chronic illnesses
Crisis circumstances
Accident victims
Emergency situations
Sympathy to families
The money we donate comes from fund raising events and at our El Paso Days celebration held in August of every year:
Car Show last year had 55 cars
Horse Trail Ride which has around 85 riders
Euchre Tournament usually has 17 tables
Pancake Breakfast which serves over 2000 people
Cow Float last year had 418 cows Dinner Theater

Things we also do to help our community are:

Donate to the local food shelves and veterans programs
We have donated to the local school lunch programs.
We hope to continue to raise funds and host fun activities well into the future, to make a big difference in the world through the wonderful, generous people in our little community.
